What You Need to Know

            Hi everyone! I’m Matt and I’m a 22 year old college student who is trying to expand on my cooking abilities and try a few new things along the way. With Covid forcing many of us to stay home, this new found free time sparked up my interest in cooking even more than it already was. There isn’t really many foods that I don’t like to eat so this is just the perfect opportunity to really try new methods and see what the best way to cook some of my favorites are. From grilling steak to pressure cooking venison to a few different ways to get the best tasting salmon with a beautiful glaze on it.  I grew up constantly helping with making a few different foods when I could. I had the habit of trying to learn at least one recipe a month as my parents both worked and I would be home alone a lot this let me have the ability to cook for myself and not be stuck with the same old same old TV dinners or cereal or whatever else happened to be in the cupboards. This helped give me a sense of independence I think as a child and its carried into my adulthood without a doubt. Nothing is more satisfying than being able to open up the fridge or pantry and see ingredients and not think to yourself “Damn… there’s nothing to eat” but instead be flooded with ideas of different recipes or combinations you could throw together to make a quick meal.
