This isn’t going to follow the typical breakdown of what this site has been used to thus far. I wanted to take a break to go deeper into what cooking can mean to people and dive into the community it creates amongst a friend group or even just a few individuals. Cooking has always been a pretty big part of my life, being an only child with parents who liked to go out to concerts, I had my fair share of time home alone to try making new things and seeing what I liked best. This has carried over into my friend group and made me become the go to chef in the group. Whenever we go up the mountains to a friends house for a few days its always prime time for me to make most of, if not all the meals. Breakfast is typically my specialty. I’m typically a very early riser considering my summer job starts at 5am so 4am everyday I’m up and at em ready to go. After a nice cup of coffee down at the lake i come back and make a big batch for everyone else. The absolute key to being a good chef in the friend group is already knowing how everyone takes their coffee and having it ready to go when breakfast is done. It never fails to give me a laugh as slowly but surely one by one everyone rolls out of bed and comes out toward the kitchen and front porch area to the smell of bacon. Ive been told I definitely give off dad vibes sipping my coffee as everyone eats. Another way this comes in is making a nice dinner for a significant other as a surprise. If you know they have a long day maybe set some time aside to make their favorite meal and help them desires or my personal favorite, just make it together and have fun with it adding whatever you think might make it better. I guess what I’m trying to get at is, that a lot of the times its more than just about the food and the recipe. It’s who you share it with and how it ends up bringing everyone together. Do more than just create good food, create community with those around you.

While I love your recipes, this might be my favorite post so far, because you capture what it's all about
Highly agree -- there's nothing quite like a group breakfast.
